According to the experts, WS2 has excellent heat resistance, and its oxidation temperature is about 100 °C higher than that of molybdenum disulfide (MoS2); moreover, it also has lubricity at a high temperature of 450 °C to help prevent sintering or seizure. WS2 has excellent extreme pressure performance to resist high surface pressure. WS2 has a lower coefficient of friction. In solid lubricants, its coefficient of friction has a tendency to decrease with increasing load.
