Molybdenum Oxide Continues Steady Decline towards $5/Lb
October 05, 2015 - Molybdenum oxide prices began the new week the way they ended the old one, drifting down towards the $5/lb psychological support level against a background of weak sentiment and slack demand.
The Platts daily dealer oxide assessment fell to $5.10-$5.20/lb from $5.20-$5.35/lb Friday.
Molybdenum oxide briquette business was reported booked in Europe at the top end of the previous range on a delivered basis in Europe, while one trader said he received an offer of oxide powder at $5/lb flat in Asia.
A European oxide buyer indicated offer levels in the $5.10-$5.20/lb range but was not currently in the market.
